Announcement: Norton County Match Day 2017

Norton Regional Health Foundation to participate in Norton County Match Day 2017

June 2017

The Norton Regional Health Foundation would like to invite you to participate in an upcoming effort to support charitable organizations in the Norton area. Donors can make their donations go farther by participating in the first-ever Norton County Match Day on Thursday, July 20th from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Heaton Building, located in downtown Norton. Norton County Match Day is meant to support our county’s charitable organizations, give back to those making a difference, and encourage the continual giving and recognition of those who make Norton County a great place in which to live, work and play.

Participating in Norton County Match Day is simple. Donors may come to the Heaton Building on July 20th and make a financial contribution to the organization or organizations important to them. The Norton County Community Foundation (NCCF) has $10,000 that will be used to match donations received that day. If $10,000 or less is cumulatively given, the NCCF will provide a dollar-for-dollar match of your donation! If the giving is more than $10,000 total, the NCCF will proportionately divide the matched funds among participating organizations. No matter how you look at it, the NCCF will graciously help make your donation become a larger overall contribution to these vital organizations in our county.

Not able to make it to the Heaton Building on July 20th? You can still make a donation that day online! Visit this website on July 20th, and make a contribution: https://www.gnwkcf.org/donate-norton

Our Norton Regional Health Foundation (NRHF) will be participating as a charitable organization on Norton County Match Day. The NRHF, established in the fall of 2016, is a public 501(c)(3) charity with the mission to support the enhancement of quality health care for the residents of Norton County and surrounding counties. It was created to ensure that Norton County Hospital will remain sustainable, accessible and capable of meeting the health care needs of anyone who seeks these services.

This is a challenging time for health care, largely due to the volatile political climate surrounding this sector. It’s no secret, however, that the sustainability of local health care is crucial for the survival of rural communities and economies. According to “The Importance of the Health Care Sector to the Kansas Economy” released by the Kansas Hospital Association, “a strong health care system can (1) help attract and maintain business and industry growth, (2) attract and retain retirees, and (3) create jobs in the local area.” We need your help so that we can continue to serve patients and provide the absolute best care possible when they need us.

In addition to supporting the Norton County Hospital and its clinics, the NRHF also works with Live Well Norton in making area communities healthier; we believe that healthy options should always be accessible within and outside of our hospital and clinics. While we invite you join us on Norton County Match Day, you can make a tax-deductible contribution at any time. More information about giving opportunities is available on our Foundation's web page. Thank you for your consideration and continued support.
