Norton County Hospital has a full-time position available for an Aide in the Norton Medical Clinic. Primary responsibilities include assisting providers, collecting vital statistics and reason for patient visit, and maintaining the electronic medical record for patients. Normal schedule is Monday-Friday during Clinic hours. Prefer previous aide experience, CNA or Certified Medical Assistant. Clinic LPN — Full Time ⬇️

Norton County Hospital has a full-time position for an LPN in our Medical Clinic. This position will be full time Monday through Friday and will participate in the Saturday morning schedule rotation.

Primary responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Assist patients in the rooming process (vital signs, height and weight) and update the patient’s electronic health record.
  • Prepare patient for any procedure to be performed.
  • Assist with orders for diagnostic studies as requested by the medical provider.
  • Inform patients of test results.
  • Communicate with the pharmacies for prescription orders.
  • Schedule patients for referrals as directed by the medical providers.
  • Assist the medical providers in completing any required paperwork.
  • Obtain prior authorizations for radiological testing and medications as needed.
  • Assist with scanning and abstraction of the medical record.
  • Assist with injections and treatments and perform routine lab test requested by medical provider.

Director of Nursing ⬇️

Norton County Hospital has a career opportunity for a Director of Nursing to lead our nursing department. We are a 25-bed progressive, critical access hospital located in Norton, Kansas. It is our goal to serve the vital need for quality health care for our community members in the county and the surrounding area. Hiring incentives may apply.

The successful applicant will be committed to the professional development of his or her nursing team. He or she will provide leadership, operational planning, and direction of all aspects of the patient care in the nursing department in order to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall supervision, competency, education and evaluation of licensed and non-licensed staff in the nursing department including emergency room.
  • Accountable for oversight of lead staff who have direct responsibility for service areas within patient care such as trauma and obstetrics.
  • The position requires knowledge of the clinical and regulatory aspects of delivering ER and acute nursing services to an array of patients.

Qualifications:

  • Registered nurse in good standing in the state of Kansas or prepared to obtain Kansas licensure.
  • Bachelors degree in nursing is preferred, with 3-5 years of experience as a director, lead nursing or equivalent role.

Laboratory Tech (MT or MLT) — Full Time, Part Time or PRN ⬇️

Norton County Hospital has a full-time, part-time or PRN employment opportunity for a Lab Tech in our Laboratory department. Applicant should be an MT, MLS or MLT with an ASCP certification or eligible for certification. New graduates are encouraged to apply. Occupational Therapist — Part Time or Full Time ⬇️

Norton County Hospital has an immediate opening for an Occupational Therapist in our Rehabilitation department. Contact Human Resources for hiring incentives. Applicant must be a graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program and have current or obtain Kansas licensure prior to start date. This position is primarily responsible for overseeing all inpatient and outpatient occupational therapy evaluations and treatments and will manage their own caseload. This position could be either part time or full time for the candidate who is self-driven and motivated to build the OT program. This position will have varying hours Monday through Friday, with no weekends or holidays.

Physical Therapist — Full Time ⬇️

Norton County Hospital has immediate opening for full-time outpatient Physical Therapist to join our health care team. Applicants must be able to obtain Kansas licensure and have graduated from an accredited program. Experienced and new graduates are encouraged to apply. Norton County Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital with a progressive rehab department that is constantly evolving to meet the needs of our regional community. Respiratory Therapist — Part Time or Full Time ⬇️

Norton County Hospital has a part-time or full-time career opportunity for a Respiratory Therapist. This position is responsible for performing all aspects of Respiratory Therapy including ABGs, CPAP management, nebulizers, incentive spirometry, body plethysmography, pulmonary rehabilitation, a wide variety of diagnostic testing including EKGs, Holter monitoring, stress testing, and pulmonary function testing, assist with sleep studies patient assessments, and equipment management. This position will share on-call responsibility to respond to emergency situations involving the respiratory status of patients. This positon will provide education to patients on respiratory diseases as appropriate.

Position qualifications include:

  • Current Kansas licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
  • Maintains current certification in Healthcare Provider BLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as approved by facility policy. (If not current in the previous advanced certifications, time may be allowed after hire to complete them.)

Medical Clinic Registration — Full Time ⬇️

Norton County Hospital is looking for a patient access representative to be the first point of contact for patients and assist them in obtaining medical care. A successful patient access representative should be able to perform administrative tasks with high efficiency and always maintain a positive and professional demeanor.

Primary responsibilities include greeting and assisting visitors, scheduling clinic appointments, registering patients, insurance verifications, point of service payment explanation including collections, and answering patient questions. The Patient Access Representative is often the first person visitors see at the facility. This applicant must have excellent customer service and computer skills, the ability to multi-task, great attention to detail, and constant focus on quality and confidentiality. Schedule will follow the office hours of the clinic, includes some Saturday mornings, and has a normal workweek of 40 hours. Housekeeping — Full Time or Part Time ⬇️

Norton County Hospital has a full-time or part-time employment opportunity in our Environmental Services department. Environmental Services staff are responsible for cleaning all areas of the hospital, clinic and facilities. The full-time position is scheduled 8-hour shifts and has rotating weekend and holiday schedules which include differential pay. Full-time position may have the opportunity to train in laundry as well. Most shifts are 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Part-time shifts will vary. Benefit package includes paid time off (PTO); health insurance; and KPERS retirement, life insurance and disability. Part-time may qualify for some benefits depending on hours.
