Norton County Hospital to host Medicare counseling

NORTON, Kan. – Norton County Hospital welcomes Medicare patients and others who are interested to attend a free informational session “Welcome to Medicare” about Medicare basics, supplement plans and open enrollment. The session will take place Wednesday, Oct. 16th, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the hospital’s conference room, which is located on the lower level.

Attendees are encouraged to park in the Norton Medical Clinic lot and come in through the clinic entrance. Staff will be on hand to direct them to the meeting location.

This informational session is intended to help Medicare patients and answer their questions; open enrollment for Part D begins on Oct. 15th and ends Dec. 7 th for a Jan. 1, 2020 coverage effective date.

Leading the discussion and answering questions will be Melody DeWitt from Norton County Hospital, who is SHICK (Senior Health Insurance Counseling for Kansas) certified. Medicare patients may also wish to sign up for individual appointments, which will take place on Oct. 16th from 1 to 5 p.m. at the hospital.
